Systems and Method to Simulate Joining Operation on Customized Workpieces

A computer-implemented system for generating customized workpieces for a mixed-reality simulation, the system comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a machine readable medium coupled to the processor and storing machine readable instructions which, when executed, cause the processor to:
• analyze a three-dimensional model of a weld training workpiece to determine a number of visual key points and a placement of the visual markers on the weld training workpiece, the number and the placement of the visual markers being based on a geometry of the weld training workpiece;
• and
• generate physical markers representative of the determined visual markers for attachment to the physical part based on the determined placement of the visual markers.

A computer-implemented system for generating customized spray paint training workpieces, the system comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a machine readable medium coupled to the processor and storing machine readable instructions which, when executed, cause the processor to:
• analyze a three-dimensional model of a spray paint training workpiece to
• determine a number of visual key points and a placement of the visual markers on the spray paint training workpiece, the number and the placement of the visual markers being based on a geometry of the spray paint training workpiece;
• and
• generate physical markers representative of the determined visual markers for attachment to the spray paint training workpiece based on the determined placement of the visual markers.
