Abstract
A method and apparatus for monitoring weld cell and related activity is disclosed. The activity is sensed using a variety of sensors, and reported to the controller, or to a remote location.

A welding system, comprising:
- a welding power supply located in a weld cell and configured to perform welding;
- a welding sensor configured to determine times associated with welding performed with the welding power supply;
- one or more first sensors configured to determine times associated with one or more weld cell related tasks, wherein the one or more first sensors sense one or more related tasks within the weld cell, the related tasks comprising at least one of grinding within the weld cell, sanding within the weld cell, loading of a part into a fixture in the weld cell, waiting by the operator associated with the weld cell, or operator movement within the weld cell;
- and
- one or more transmitters, connected to the one or more sensors, and configured to transmit information indicative of the one or more weld cell related tasks.
