Primary carrier and secondary carrier negotiation in sidelink

A network entity for wireless communication, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• one or more processors configured to, based at least in part on information stored in the memory:
• receive, from a mobile station, one or more of a capability of the mobile station or a location of the mobile station;
• and
• transmit, to the mobile station, an indication of one or more of a primary carrier or a secondary carrier selected by the network entity based at least in part on the capability of the mobile station and the location of the mobile station.

A method of wireless communication performed by a first mobile station, comprising:

• transmitting, by the first mobile station to a second mobile station, a signal on each of multiple sidelink carriers;
• receiving, by the first mobile station from the second mobile station, one or more signals on one or more of the multiple sidelink carriers;
• selecting, by the first mobile station, a primary carrier among the multiple sidelink carriers and a secondary carrier among the multiple sidelink carriers based at least in part on the one or more signals received on the one or more of the multiple sidelink carriers;
• and
• negotiating, by the first mobile station with the second mobile station, which of the multiple sidelink carriers are to be an agreed primary carrier and an agreed secondary carrier.
