An apparatus for delivering a humidified flow of gas, the apparatus comprising a housing, the housing receiving a humidification chamber, a cover that is connectable to the housing, a battery chamber defined by the cover and the housing, an upper surface of the cover comprising at least one of a cover groove and a cover ridge, the housing comprising a mating surface that adjoins the upper surface of the cover, the mating surface comprising at least one of a housing groove and a housing ridge that is configured to mate with the at least one of the cover groove and the cover ridge of the upper surface of the cover, mating the at least one of the cover groove and the cover ridge of the upper surface of the cover and the at least one of the housing groove and the housing ridge of the mating surface of the housing defines a tortuous path when the cover is installed, the tortuous path limiting an ingress of liquid and oxygen into the battery chamber, and one or more fasteners securing the cover to the housing, the one or more fasteners extending upward when the apparatus is positioned for use.
