The shield may include a covering coupled to the pad, the covering disposed in front of the window, the covering disposed in front of the face of the user, and the covering draped over the user.

A protective shield comprising:
- a headband disposed above a face of a user;
- a pad coupled to the headband, the pad disposed above the face of the user;
- a window coupled to the pad, the window disposed in front of the face of the user;
- and
- a covering coupled to the pad, the covering disposed in front of the window, the covering disposed in front of the face of the user, and the covering draped over and around the user.
