Abstract
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for handling personal data in a machine-to-machine (M2M) system, and an operation method of an M2M device includes obtaining information related to consent of a user for personal data provided from an Internet of things (IoT) device and creating a consent-related resource based on the information. The resource includes at least one attribute related to the consent.

A method for operating a machine-to-machine (M2M) device in an M2M system, the method comprising:
- obtaining information related to a consent of a user for personal data provided from an Internet of things (IoT) device;
- and
- creating a consent-related resource based on the information,
- wherein the resource includes at least one attribute related to the consent.
A machine-to-machine (M2M) device in an M2M system, the M2M device comprising:
- a transceiver configured to transmit and receive a signal;
- and
- a processor configured to control the transceiver,
- wherein the processor is further configured to:
- obtain information related to a consent of a user for personal data provided from an Internet of things (IoT) device, and
- create a consent-related resource based on the information, and
- wherein the resource includes at least one attribute related to the consent.
