Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an information processing device and method capable of suppressing an increase in load of processing of sensing data. A bit depth of intermediate data generated from sensing data obtained in a sensor of an indirect time-of-flight (TOF) system is corrected, and the intermediate data with the bit depth corrected is encoded, and coded data is generated. For example, the bit depth of the intermediate data is corrected using a gamma curve that is a predetermined curve indicating input-output characteristics. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, an image processing device, an image encoding device, an image decoding device, an imaging element, an imaging device, or the like.
