Abstract
Provided are a mycosporine-like amino acid-producing microorganism and a method for production of mycosporine-like amino acids by using same. The microorganism can produce mycosporine-like amino acids from xylose.
Claims13
A microorganism comprising:
- (a) a xylose assimilation enzyme;
- and
- (b) a mycosporine-like amino acid biosynthesis enzyme,
- wherein the xylose assimilation enzyme comprises a conversion enzyme of xylose to xylulose, a xylulose phosphorylase, or a combination thereof,
- wherein the xylose assimilation enzyme, mycosporine-like amino acid biosynthesis enzyme, or both are exogenous proteins.
