Sidelink groupcast reachability based scheduling

An apparatus for wireless communications at a first user equipment (UE), comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• memory coupled with the processor, the processor configured to:
• transmit, to a network device, a sidelink request for groupcast communications between a group of UEs, the group of UEs comprising at least the first UE, a second UE, and a third UE;
• receive, based at least in part on the sidelink request and from the network device, a groupcast sidelink grant indicating a first resource, the first resource for transmission of a groupcast sidelink message from the first UE to the second UE;
• and
• transmit, to the second UE, the groupcast sidelink message via the first resource.

An apparatus for wireless communications at a second user equipment (UE), comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• memory coupled with the processor, the processor configured to:
• receive, from a network device, a groupcast sidelink grant that indicates a first resource for transmission of a groupcast sidelink message from a first UE to the second UE and a second resource for transmission of the groupcast sidelink message from the second UE to a third UE;
• receive the groupcast sidelink message from the first UE via the first resource;
• and
• transmit the groupcast sidelink message to the third UE via the second resource based at least in part on reception of the groupcast sidelink message from the first UE.
