Method for determining link availability for iab node, and node using same

A method for an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node in a wireless communication system, the method performed by the IAB node and comprising:

• generating a desired guard symbols MAC CE;
• and
• wherein the IAB node informs a parent IAB node about a number of guard symbols desired via the desired guard symbols MAC CE,
• wherein the desired guard symbols MAC CE includes guard symbol information, and
• wherein the guard symbol information indicates the number of guard symbols for switching between a mobile terminal (MT) operation and a distributed unit (DU) operation.

An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node comprising:

• a transceiver;
• at least one memory;
• and
• at least one processor being operatively connected to the at least one memory and the transceiver,
• wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
• generate a desired guard symbols MAC CE;
• and
• wherein the IAB node informs a parent IAB node about a number of guard symbols desired via the desired guard symbols MAC CE,
• wherein the desired guard symbols MAC CE includes guard symbol information, and
• wherein the guard symbol information indicates the number of guard symbols for switching between a mobile terminal (MT) operation and a distributed unit (DU) operation.

An apparatus comprising:

• at least one memory;
• and
• at least one processor being operatively connected to the at least one memory,
• wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
• generate a desired guard symbols MAC CE;
• and
• wherein the IAB node informs a parent IAB node about a number of guard symbols desired via the desired guard symbols MAC CE,
• wherein the desired guard symbols MAC CE includes guard symbol information, and
• wherein the guard symbol information indicates the number of guard symbols for switching between a mobile terminal (MT) operation and a distributed unit (DU) operation.
