Abstract
Disclosed is a system and method for performing measurements on a biological subject, and in one particular example, to performing measurements of analytes in a biological subject by breaching a functional barrier of the subject using microstructures, wherein the one or more microstructures include an aptamer for binding one or more analytes.
Claims92
A system for performing measurements on a biological subject, the system including:
- a) at least one substrate including one or more microstructures configured to breach a functional barrier of the subject, wherein the one or more microstructures include an aptamer for binding one or more analytes;
- b) at least one sensor operatively connected to at least one microstructure, the at least one sensor being configured to measure response signals from the at least one microstructure;
- and,
- c) one or more electronic processing devices that:
- i) determine measured response signals;
- and,
- ii) perform an analysis at least in part using the measured response signals to determine at least one indicator at least partially indicative of analyte presence, absence, level or concentration in the subject.
