Comparable item identification for query items

A non-transitory machine readable medium having stored thereon processor-executable instructions that when executed cause performance of operations, the operations comprising:

• constructing a query based upon a set of similarity characteristics and a set of difference characteristics specified for a query item;
• executing the query to identify a set of query item results comprising items having characteristics similar to the set of similarity characteristics and characteristics different from the set of difference characteristics;
• and
• providing the set of query item results as query results for the query.

A computing device comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• memory comprising processor-executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause performance of operations, the operations comprising:
• constructing a query based upon a set of similarity characteristics and a set of difference characteristics specified for a query item;
• executing the query to identify a set of query item results comprising items having characteristics similar to the set of similarity characteristics and characteristics different from the set of difference characteristics;
• and
• constructing a media item comprising the query item and the set of query item results for comparison.
