Abstract
A method of operating a network server, such as a mobile application gateway, connect devices on a cellular or carrier network with individual networks, such as enterprise voice and data networks or residential networks. The effects of the present invention are far reaching in terms of transferring effective call control from the cellular network into the control of the individual network, such as the enterprise, and enabling new business models for the purchase of cellular service from a public cellular carrier by an enterprise.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- providing, by an enterprise gateway server, associated with an enterprise, a first routing instruction, based on at least one enterprise policy, to a carrier gateway server wherein the at least one enterprise policy limits a usage amount of a mobile device may be used after the mobile device has been identified as being away from the enterprise;
- and
- transmitting from the carrier gateway server to a mobile switching network, a second routing instruction, which instructs the mobile switching network to route the session to a destination when the mobile device has not exceeded the usage amount.
A system, comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory, wherein the processor and memory are communicably coupled,
- wherein the processor is configured to:
- provide, by an enterprise gateway server, associated with an enterprise, a first route instruction, based on at least one enterprise policy, to a carrier gateway server wherein the at least one enterprise policy limits a usage amount of a mobile device may be used after the mobile device has been identified away from the enterprise;
- and
- transmit from the carrier gateway server to a mobile switching network, a second route instruction, which instructs the mobile switching network to route the session to a destination when the mobile device has not exceeded the usage amount.
A computer readable storage medium comprising instructions, that when read by a processor, cause the processor to perform:
- providing, by an enterprise gateway server, associated with an enterprise, a first routing instruction, based on at least one enterprise policy, to a carrier gateway server wherein the at least one enterprise policy limits a usage amount of a mobile device may be used after the mobile device has been identified as being away from the enterprise;
- and
- transmitting from the carrier gateway server to a mobile switching network, a second routing instruction, which instructs the mobile switching network to route the session to a destination when the mobile device has not exceeded the usage amount.
