Abstract
The invention relates to electrical circuits. More specifically, the invention relates to the detection whether an input wire is floating, connected to the Line or to the Neutral of an AC electric power supply. The invention uses impedances between a point of the circuit and the Input, the Line and the Neutral, and the status of the input line is determined based on the voltage at said point of the circuit, or a derivative thereof.
Claims13
An electric circuit comprising:
- a connection to the Line of an AC electric power supply;
- a connection connecter to the Neutral of said AC electric power supply;
- an input wire configured to be floating, connected to said Line, or to said Neutral;
- a first impedance, a second impedance, and a third impedance, said first, second, and third impedance being placed between a first point and, respectively, the Line, the Neutral and the input wire;
- at least one processing logic;
- wherein said processing logic is configured to determine whether the input wire is floating, connected to said Line, or to said Neutral based on the voltage at said first point, or a derivative thereof.
A method comprising:
- receiving a voltage at a first point of an electric circuit, or a derivative thereof, said electric circuit comprising:
- a connection to the Line of an AC electric power supply;
- a connection connecter to the Neutral of said AC electric power supply;
- an input wire configured to be floating, connected to said Line, or to said Neutral;
- a first impedance, a second impedance, and a third impedance, said first, second, and third impedance being placed between the first point and, respectively, the Line, the Neutral and the input wire;
- determining whether the input wire is floating, connected to said Line, or to said Neutral based on the voltage at said first point, or a derivative thereof.
A computer program product comprising computer code instructions stored on a non-transitory computer storage media, the computer code instructions when executed by one or more processor, configured the one or more processors to:
- receive a voltage at a first point of an electric circuit, or a derivative thereof, said electric circuit comprising:
- a connection to the Line of an AC electric power supply;
- a connection connecter to the Neutral of said AC electric power supply;
- an input wire configured to be floating, connected to said Line, or to said Neutral;
- a first impedance, a second impedance, and a third impedance (Zi, Ri), said first, second, and third impedance being placed between the first point and, respectively, the Line, the Neutral and the input wire;
- determine whether the input wire is floating, connected to said Line, or to said Neutral based on the voltage at said first point, or a derivative thereof.
