Abstract
A system and method for providing fertilizer for crop production in an aqueous solution comprising nano-sized fertilizer particles, which are free of any chemical side chain and free any micelle to protect the nano-sized particle from re-agglomeration, suspended therein for improved uptake by the population of the crop.

A nanoparticulated fertilizer composition comprising:
- an effective amount of a nanoparticulated mineral for fertilizing a plant, wherein the nanoparticulated mineral comprises calcium;
- wherein the nanoparticulated mineral is added to an amount of ultrapure water to thereby create a first volume of aqueous solution;
- and
- wherein an effective amount of the nanoparticulated fertilizer composition is less than 50% of a corresponding standard fertilizer composition for a predetermined application rate.
