Abstract
To write forgettable data to a blockchain, the forgettable data is transmitted to a server, from which encrypted data corresponding to the forgettable data are received. A hash of the forgettable data is generated. A data block including the encrypted data and control data including the hash is added to the blockchain.
Claims26
A non-transitory computer-readable data storage medium storing program code executable by a computing device to perform processing comprising:
- receiving from a server computing device first encrypted data corresponding to first forgettable data;
- generating a first hash of the first forgettable data;
- and
- adding a data block including the received first encrypted data and first control data including the first hash to a blockchain.
1 more element
A method comprising:
- transmitting, by the computing device, first encrypted data of a data block of a blockchain to a first server computing device, the data block further including first control data, the first control data including a first hash of first forgettable data to which the first encrypted data corresponds;
- receiving, by the computing device, first decrypted data that allegedly is the first forgettable data, from the first server computing device;
- generating, by the computing device, a first verification hash of the first decrypted data;
- and
- responsive to verifying that the generated first verification hash matches the first hash, concluding, by the computing device, that the first decrypted data is the first forgettable data.
2 more elements
A server computing device comprising:
- a storage device to store a sole copy of a cryptographic key used to decrypt forgettable data from encrypted data of a data block of a blockchain;
- a processor, and
- a memory storing program code executable by the processor to:
- receive a request to destruct the cryptographic key;
- authenticate the request;
- and
- responsive to authenticating the request, destruct the cryptographic key.
