Broadcast relay method in new radio

An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• memory coupled with the processor, the processor configured to:
• receive a signal that indicates a broadcast reception capability of a network entity;
• communicate, with the network entity, based at least in part on the broadcast reception capability of the network entity;
• receive, from a broadcast transmitter, a broadcast signal comprising one or more multi-resolution messages;
• receive a configuration signal that indicates a transmission mode of the network entity;
• monitor at least a portion of a time slot for reception of a relay signal based at least in part on the transmission mode of the network entity, wherein the relay signal comprises a relay of the broadcast signal transmitted from the broadcast transmitter to the network entity;
• and
• receive the relay signal based at least in part on the monitored portion of the time slot.

An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• memory coupled with the processor, the processor configured to:
• determine a broadcast reception capability of a network entity, wherein the broadcast reception capability comprises a capability to receive a broadcast signal from a broadcast transmitter;
• transmit a signal indicating the broadcast reception capability of the network entity based at least in part on the determined broadcast reception capability;
• and
• communicate based at least in part on the broadcast reception capability at the network entity.

An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• memory coupled to the processor, the processor and memory configured to:
• transmit a configuration signal indicating a transmission mode of the network entity;
• receive a broadcast signal based at least in part on a broadcast reception capability at the network entity, the broadcast signal comprising one or more systematic information bits and one or more redundancy coding bits;
• and
• transmit a relay signal within at least a portion of a time slot based at least in part on the transmission mode of the network entity, wherein the relay signal comprises a relay of the broadcast signal received from the broadcast transmitter.
