System and method for performing and reporting measurements in wireless communication networks

A method, comprising:

• transmitting, to a wireless communication node, a message indicating availability of at least one measurement report;
• receiving, from the wireless communication node, a message requesting the at least one measurement report;
• measuring at least one parameter according to the at least one measurement report;
• generating the at least one measurement report according to the measured at least one parameter;
• and
• transmitting, to the wireless communication node, the at least one measurement report.

A first wireless communication node, comprising:

• at least one processor configured to:
• determine at least one parameter related to wireless communication devices in a wireless communication network;
• compare the at least one parameter with at least one threshold value;
• and
• report, according to an outcome of the comparing, the at least one parameter to a second wireless communication node associated with the wireless communication network.
