Permissible transmission gap assistance by ue

A wireless device for a cellular communications network, the wireless device comprising:

• one or more transmitters;
• one or more receivers;
• and
• processing circuitry associated with the one or more transmitters and the one or more receivers, the processing circuitry configured to cause the wireless device to:
• determine a transmission gap for the wireless device, the transmission gap being a time gap during which no uplink or downlink data transmission is anticipated or required by the wireless device;
• and
• transmit information comprising an indication of the transmission gap to a network node.

A method performed by a base station for a cellular communications network, the method comprising:

• receiving, from a wireless device, information comprising an indication of a transmission gap, the transmission gap being a time gap during which no uplink or downlink data transmission is anticipated or required by the wireless device;
• determining a Physical Downlink Control Channel, PDCCH, monitoring mode for the wireless device to accommodate the indicated transmission gap;
• and
• transmitting a configuration of the determined PDCCH monitoring mode to the wireless device.

A base station for a cellular communications network, the base station comprising processing circuitry configured to cause the base station to:

• receive, from a wireless device, information comprising an indication of a transmission gap, the transmission gap being a time gap during which no uplink or downlink data transmission is anticipated or required by the wireless device;
• determine a Physical Downlink Control Channel, PDCCH, monitoring mode for the wireless device to accommodate the indicated transmission gap;
• and
• transmit a configuration of the determined PDCCH monitoring mode to the wireless device.
