Method and Apparatus for Manufacturing Line Simulation

An apparatus for simulating at least one object in a manufacturing line, the at least one object being placed on a conveyor in the manufacturing line, the apparatus comprising:

• a position obtaining unit configured to obtain a position of one of the at least one object from object data collected by a camera device deployed in the manufacturing line;
• a movement determining unit configured to determine a movement of the conveyor from a controller of the conveyor;
• an object position obtaining unit configured to obtain an object position of the object based on the determined position and an offset of the object caused by the movement of the conveyor;
• and
• a displaying unit configured to display a virtual representation of the object at the determined object position in a virtual environment.

A system for simulating at least one object in a manufacturing line, the system comprising:

• a computer processor coupled to a computer-readable memory unit, the memory unit comprising instructions that when executed by the computer processor implements a method for simulating the at least one object, the at least one object being placed on a conveyor in the manufacturing line, the method comprising:
• obtaining a position of one of the at least one object from object data collected by a camera device deployed in the manufacturing line;
• determining a movement of the conveyor from a controller of the conveyor;
• obtaining an object position of the object based on the determined position and an offset of the object caused by the movement of the conveyor;
• and
• displaying a virtual representation of the object at the determined object position in a virtual environment.

A computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon, the instructions, when executed on at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform a method for simulating the at least one object, the at least one object being placed on a conveyor in the manufacturing line, the method comprising:

• obtaining a position of one of the at least one object from object data collected by a camera device deployed in the manufacturing line;
• determining a movement of the conveyor from a controller of the conveyor;
• obtaining an object position of the object based on the determined position and an offset of the object caused by the movement of the conveyor;
• and
• displaying a virtual representation of the object at the determined object position in a virtual environment.

A manufacturing system, comprising:

• a manufacturing line, comprising:
• a conveyor;
• and
• a camera device configured to collect object data of at least one object placed on the conveyor;
• an apparatus for simulating at least one object in the manufacturing line, the apparatus comprising:
• a position obtaining unit configured to obtain a position of one of the at least one object from object data collected by a camera device deployed in the manufacturing line;
• a movement determining unit configured to determine a movement of the conveyor from a controller of the conveyor;
• an object position obtaining unit configured to obtain an object position of the object based on the determined position and an offset of the object caused by the movement of the conveyor;
• and
• a displaying unit configured to display a virtual representation of the object at the determined object position in a virtual environment.
