Method and apparatus for managing event in communication system

A subscription manager discovery service (SM-DS) for managing an event, the SM-DS comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to control to:
• receive, from a subscription manager data preparation plus (SM-DP+), a first message for requesting a registration of an event, the first message including expiration time point for the event,
• identify whether the expiration time point for the event has passed,
• delete the event in case that the expiration time point for the event has passed, and
• transmit, to the SM-DP+, a second message indicating that the event has been deleted.

A subscription manager data preparation plus (SM-DP+) for managing an event, the SM-DP+comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to control to:
• transmit, to a subscription manager discovery service (SM-DS), a first message for requesting a registration of an event, the first message including expiration time point for the event, and
• receive, from the SM-DS, a second message indicating that the event has been deleted in case that the expiration time point for the event has passed and the event is deleted by the SM-DS.
