Abstract
Processes and kits-of-parts reshape keratin fibers by applying a composition onto hair and covering the hair, wherein the composition comprises ammonia and one or more organic alkalizing agents. Additionally, the hair is put under tension using a curler with covering the curler with a moisture barrier, and heating the keratin fibers. As a result, long-lasting curl having cosmetic properties are achievable and an ammonia smell is reduced when directly compared to compositions having no organic alkalizing agent.
Claims16
A process for reshaping keratin fibers, the process comprising:
- a) putting keratin fibers under mechanical tension,
- b) applying a non-reducing, non-oxidizing alkaline composition onto the keratin fibers, wherein the non-reducing, non-oxidizing alkaline composition has a pH ranging 7 to 12 and comprises two or more alkalizing agents, wherein
- i) one or more first alkalizing agents is/are selected from ammonia and/or its salts, and
- ii) one or more second alkalizing agents is/are selected from at least one organic alkalizing agent and its salts,
- c) covering the keratin fibers with a moisture barrier,
- d) heating the keratin fibers to a temperature ranging from 50° C. to 230° C.,
- e) removing the moisture barrier from the keratin fibers,
- f) releasing tension from the keratin fibers,
- g) optionally rinsing-off the keratin fibers,
- wherein
- a) and b) are executable in either order and/or f) and q) are executable in either order,
- a weight ratio of the one or more first alkalizing agents to the one or more second alkalizing ranges from 0.1 to 20.
