Control channel transmitting and receiving method and apparatus in wireless communication system

A method performed by a base station in a communication system, the method comprising:

• transmitting, to a terminal, configuration information for a preemption indication via higher layer signaling;
• and
• transmitting, to the terminal, downlink control information including a preemption indicator indicating resources to be assumed as preempted,
• wherein the preemption indicator is applied to a previous transmission period of the downlink control information,
• wherein the preemption indicator indicates the resources in a unit of symbols and a unit of frequency band based on a bitmap, and
• wherein the unit of symbols is based on a transmission period of the downlink control information.

A terminal in a communication system, the terminal comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
• receive, from a base station, configuration information for a preemption indication via higher layer signaling,
• receive, from the base station, downlink control information including a preemption indicator, the preemption indicator being applied to a previous transmission period of the downlink control information,
• identify resources indicated by the preemption indicator, and
• identify that the resources are preempted,
• wherein the preemption indicator indicates the resources in a unit of symbols and a unit of frequency band based on a bitmap, and
• wherein the unit of symbols is based on a transmission period of the downlink control information.

A base station in a communication system, the base station comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
• transmit, to a terminal, configuration information for a preemption indication via higher layer signaling, and
• transmit, to the terminal, downlink control information including a preemption indicator indicating resources to be assumed as preempted,
• wherein the preemption indicator is applied to a previous transmission period of the downlink control information,
• wherein the preemption indicator indicates the resources in a unit of symbols and a unit of frequency band based on a bitmap, and
• wherein the unit of symbols is based on a transmission period of the downlink control information.
