Abstract
A method of operating a mesh network is disclosed. The method includes joining a network as a child of a parent node and receiving a downlink broadcast channel from the parent node. The method further includes setting the downlink broadcast channel as an uplink broadcast channel in response to the step of receiving.
Claims20
A method of operating a mesh network, comprising:
- transmitting a signal in a command frame from a first network node to a plurality of second network nodes,
- wherein a first logic state of the signal directs the plurality of second network nodes to use a broadcast schedule of the first network node, and
- wherein a second logic state of the signal permits the plurality of second network nodes to create their own respective broadcast schedules.
A node in a network comprising:
- a receiver;
- and
- a processor coupled to the receiver and configured to receive a command frame including a signal;
- wherein a first logic state of the signal directs the node to use a predetermined broadcast schedule, and
- wherein a second logic state of the signal permits the node to create its own broadcast schedule.

- a processor coupled to the transmitter and configured to transmit a command frame including a signal;
- wherein a first logic state of the signal directs use of a broadcast schedule of the router, and
