Extending communication range of wireless devices operating in a 6 gigahertz band

A wireless device to extend communication range when operating in a 6 Gigahertz (GHz) band, the wireless device comprising:

• a radio frequency transceiver;
• a memory device storing a set of instructions;
• and
• a processor coupled to the memory device, wherein the set of instructions when executed by the processor causes the wireless device to:
• generate a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) that includes a preamble portion and a data portion that includes first data;
• and
• transmit the PPDU through a wireless medium on a transmission channel that is subdivided into a plurality of resource units (RUs), wherein the first data is duplicated in the data portion in a frequency domain in units of RUs.
