Abstract
A system described herein may determine transformations, differences, variations, etc. in radio frequency (“RF”) waveforms sent by a device in order to detect motion-based events. Models associated with the differences in such RF waveforms may be used to identify particular types of events, such as the presence of an individual in a room or other area, a type of motion, or other types of events. An interval or rate at which the device outputs RF waveforms may be modified, in order to increase the resolution of the determination of differences between the RF waveforms as sent and the RF waveforms as received, and/or to conserve power.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- a master node configured to:
- implement a wireless network that is associated with an identifier having a pre-configured pattern;
- and
- a plurality of satellite nodes configured to:
- perform a wireless scan using the pre-configured pattern;
- detect, based on the wireless scan, a presence of the wireless network implemented by the master node;
- pair with the master node via the wireless network;
- and
- output wireless sensing signals;
- wherein the master node is further configured to:
- determine, based on wireless sensing signals output by a first satellite node, of the plurality of satellite nodes paired with the master node, an occurrence of an event;
- and
- output an alert, based on the occurrence of the event, to at least a second satellite node of the plurality of satellite nodes paired with the master node.
A method, comprising:
- implementing, by a master node, a wireless network that is associated with an identifier having a pre-configured pattern;
- performing, by each satellite node of a plurality of satellite nodes, a wireless scan using the pre-configured pattern;
- detecting, by the each satellite node and based on the wireless scan, a presence of the wireless network implemented by the master node;
- pair, by the each satellite node, with the master node via the wireless network;
- outputting, by at least a first satellite node of the plurality of satellite nodes, wireless sensing signals;
- determining, by the master node and based on the wireless sensing signals output by the first satellite node, an occurrence of an event;
- and
- outputting an alert, based on the occurrence of the event, from the master node to at least a second satellite node of the plurality of satellite nodes paired with the master node.
The method of claim 12, wherein the identifier includes a Service Set Identifier (“SSID”), and wherein the wireless network is a hidden wireless network that is undiscoverable without scanning for the SSID.
A device, comprising:
- one or more processors configured to:
- implement a wireless network that is associated with an identifier having a pre-configured pattern;
- pair, via the wireless network, with a plurality of satellite nodes that detect the wireless network based on performing one or more scans using the pre-configured pattern;
- receive wireless sensing signals from a first satellite node, of the plurality of satellite nodes paired with the master node;
- identify an occurrence of an event based on the received wireless sensing signals from the first satellite node;
- and
- output an alert, based on the occurrence of the event, to at least a second satellite node of the plurality of satellite nodes paired with the master node.
