Integrated diagnostic test requisition and clinical decision support

A system for providing clinical decision support, comprising:

• a test information data store for storing diagnostic test definition data including a plurality of test definitions;
• a clinical decision support data store for storing data associated with a plurality of biomarker definitions and related medical conditions;
• a computing device communicatively connected to the test information data store and the clinical decision support data store comprising,
• a request engine configured to:
• receive, from an electronic medical records (EMR) system a request for diagnostic test information associated with a patient, the request including patient data;
• transmit one or more test requisitions;
• and
• receive one or more results corresponding to each of the one or more test requisitions,
• a clinical decision support engine configured to:
• determine one or more diagnostic tests based on the request, wherein each diagnostic test is associated with a test definition of the plurality of test definitions;
• and
• determine, based on one or more standardized results and the data associated with the plurality of biomarker definitions and related medical conditions, one or more courses of action,
• a data standardization engine configured to:
• convert data associated with each of the one or more diagnostic tests into a test data requisition format associated with a test provider;
• and
• generate the one or more standardized results based on the received one or more results, wherein the generating of the standardized results includes converting data associated with each result of the received one or more results into a uniform data format, and
• a test interface engine configured to:
• populate one or more fields of a plurality of graphical user interface (GUI) fields;
• and
• generate the one or more test requisitions based on the request.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon machine-readable instructions executable to cause a machine to perform operations for providing clinical decision support, the operations comprising:

• receiving, by one or more processors from an electronic medical records (EMR) system, a request for diagnostic test information associated with a patient, the request including patient data;
• determining, by the one or more processors, one or more diagnostic tests based on the request, wherein each diagnostic test is associated with a test definition of a plurality of test definitions;
• populating, by the one or more processors, one or more fields of a plurality of graphical user interface (GUI) fields based on the request and the patient data;
• converting, by the one or more processors, data associated with each of the one or more diagnostic tests into a test data requisition format associated with a test provider;
• generating, by the one or more processors, one or more test requisitions based on the request;
• transmitting, by the one or more processors, the one or more test requisitions;
• receiving, by the one or more processors, one or more results corresponding to each of the one or more test requisitions,
• generating, by the one or more processors, one or more standardized results based on the received one or more results, wherein the generating of the standardized results includes converting data associated with each result of received one or more results into a uniform data format;
• and
• determining, by the one or more processors, based on the one or more standardized results and data associated with a plurality of biomarker definitions and related medical conditions, one or more courses of action.
