Integrated accessible pedestrian system

An integrated pedestrian access system comprising:

• a plurality of pedestrian signal heads that convey pedestrian signal indications to a pedestrian proximate a pedestrian crosswalk;
• at least one traffic controller configured to control the plurality of pedestrian signal heads;
• and
• a plurality of receivers each communicatively coupled to at least one traffic controller and configured to receive a pedestrian signal request from the pedestrian;
• wherein each receiver of the plurality of receivers is configured to wirelessly communicate with each other receiver of the plurality of receivers and avoid pedestrian signal indication conflicts in the integrated pedestrian access system.

An integrated pedestrian access system comprising:

• a plurality of pedestrian signal heads configured to convey visual, tactile, or audible pedestrian signal indications to a pedestrian proximate a pedestrian crosswalk;
• at least one traffic controller configured to control the plurality of pedestrian signal heads;
• and
• a plurality of receivers each communicatively coupled to at least one traffic controller and configured to receive a pedestrian signal request from the pedestrian;
• wherein each receiver of the plurality of receivers is configured to wirelessly communicate with each other receiver in order to avoid pedestrian signal indication conflicts in the integrated pedestrian access system.
