Video display device and video display method

A video display system in which a plurality of video display devices carried by a plurality of users are connected and migration trajectories of the plurality of users are displayed as images by the plurality of video display devices,

• wherein each of the plurality of video display devices includes:
• a sensor that detects a position and a direction of the user carrying the video display device;
• a trajectory information acquisition unit that acquires information of the migration trajectory of the user from a detection result of the sensor;
• a storage unit that stores trajectory information of the user acquired by the trajectory information acquisition unit and information of avatars which are virtual images indicating the user and another user;
• a communication processing unit that transmits and receives the trajectory information of each user to and from another video display device carried by another user;
• a display unit that displays the migration trajectory of each user with each avatar;
• and
• a control unit that controls the trajectory information acquisition unit, the communication processing unit, and the display unit, and
• the control unit generates the avatar of each user from the information of the avatars stored in the storage unit, calculates a current visual field area of the user using the sensor, and displays each of the generated avatars on the display unit so as to be disposed in the migration trajectories of the user and another user according to the current visual field area of the user on the basis of the trajectory information of the user stored in the storage unit and the trajectory information of another user received by the communication processing unit.

A video display method that displays a migration trajectory of a user as an image, the method comprising:

• a step of detecting a position and a direction of the user and acquiring information of the migration trajectory of the user;
• a step of storing the acquired trajectory information of the user in a storage unit;
• a step of generating an avatar which is a virtual image indicating the user;
• a step of calculating a current visual field area of the user;
• and
• a step of displaying the generated avatar on a display unit so as to be disposed in the migration trajectory of the user according to the current visual field area of the user on the basis of the trajectory information of the user stored in the storage unit.
