Method and apparatus for frame based equipment operation of nr unlicensed

A base station (BS) in a wireless communication system, the BS comprising:

• a transceiver configured to transmit, via a system information signaling or a dedicated signaling, information indicating a first channel access procedure to apply for operation with shared spectrum channel access including period information;
• and
• a processor operably coupled to the transceiver, the processor configured to:
• identify a fixed frame period based on the period information included in the information indicating the first channel access procedure to apply for operation with shared spectrum channel access, and
• determine a channel occupancy time and a duration of an idle period based on the period information included in the information indicating the first channel access procedure to apply for operation with shared spectrum channel access,
• wherein the transceiver is further configured to perform at least one of a first downlink (DL) transmission or a first uplink (UL) reception within the channel occupancy time.

A method of operating a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

• receiving, via a system information signaling or a dedicated signaling, information indicating a first channel access procedure to apply for operation with shared spectrum channel access including period information;
• identifying a fixed frame period, a channel occupancy time, and a duration of an idle period based on the period information included in the information indicating the first channel access procedure to apply for operation with shared spectrum channel access;
• and
• performing at least one of a first downlink (DL) reception or a first uplink (UL) transmission within the channel occupancy time.
