Methods and systems for a medical image annotation tool

A system, comprising:

• a display device;
• and
• non-transitory memory storing instructions executable by a processor to:
• output a plurality of annotation icons from an icon library based on a current image displayed on the display device, each annotation icon in the icon library representing a respective annotation shape generated by one or more specialists;
• upon selection of an annotation icon representing an annotation shape from the plurality of annotation icons, adjust one or more display parameters;
• receive a user input adjusting the annotation shape displayed on the display device to match a corresponding anatomical feature within the current image;
• track adjustments made to the annotation shape;
• and
• update the annotation icon in the icon library or generate a new annotation icon in the icon library based on the tracked adjustments to the annotation shape.
