Automatic Identification and Presentation of Edges, Shapes and Unique Objects in an Image Used for a Machine Vision Job Setup

A computer system for facilitating creation of an image analysis job, the computer system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• a non-transitory program memory communicatively coupled to the one or more processors and storing executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computer system to:
• receive an image file;
• automatically determine an item of interest within the image file;
• analyze the item of interest to determine an appropriate tool for processing the item of interest;
• and
• display, on a display screen:
• (i) an image corresponding to the image file, (ii) an indication of the item of interest, and (iii) an indication of the appropriate tool.

A tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium storing executable instructions for creating a machine vision job that, when executed by at least one processor of a computer system, cause the computer system to:

• receive an image file;
• automatically determine an item of interest within the image file;
• analyze the item of interest to determine an appropriate tool for processing the item of interest;
• and
• display, on a display screen:
• (i) an image corresponding to the image file, (ii) an indication of the item of interest, and (iii) an indication of the appropriate tool.
