Abstract
A marine-type communication device that reads data from a data bus, dynamically creates new data channels for a plurality of operational systems and performs a volatility assessment to determine when to save the data for transmission to a cloud network and when to transmit the data to the cloud network.
Claims42
A machine-type communication device comprising:
- a receiver that receives sensor data from a plurality of operational systems;
- a cellular connection for transmitting the data from the marine electronic device to a cloud network;
- and
- a processor that dynamically creates data channels based on the plurality of operational systems, and performs a volatility assessment to determine when to save the data for transmission to the could network and when to transmit the data to the cloud network.
A method of monitoring and transmitting sensor data from a plurality of operational systems comprising:
- receiving sensor data from a plurality of operational systems;
- transmitting the data from a marine electronic device to a cloud network;
- dynamically creating data channels based on the plurality of operational systems;
- and
- performing a volatility assessment to determine when to save the data for transmission to the could network and when to transmit the data to the cloud network.
A non-transitory computer readable medium having instruction recorded thereon that, when executed by a processing device, cause the processing device to:
- receive sensor data from a plurality of operational systems;
- transmit the sensor data from the marine electronic device to a cloud network;
- dynamically create data channels based on the plurality of operational systems;
- and
- perform a volatility assessment to determine when to save the data for transmission to the cloud network and when to transmit the data to the cloud network.
