Abstract
A light source illuminates the FOV with pulsed illumination light having an intensity that changes with time. An image sensor is exposed to reflected light from an object in two consecutive exposures. A calculation unit generates a distance image giving consideration to the waveform of the illumination light based on the output of the image sensor acquired in the two exposures.

A ToF camera comprising:
- a light source structured to illuminate the field of view (FOV) with pulsed illumination light having an intensity that changes with time;
- an image sensor arranged to be exposed to reflected light from an object in two consecutive exposures;
- and
- a calculation unit structured to generate a distance image giving consideration to a waveform of the illumination light based on an output of the image sensor acquired in the two exposures.
