Clamp opening system for a machine for producing adhesively bonded printed products

A machine for producing adhesively bonded printed products, comprising a book block, the machine consisting essentially of:

• a circulating clamp chain equipped with binder clamps spaced apart from one another, each of the binder clamps configured to interact with a clamp opening system,
• of the clamp opening system comprising moveable aid internal to a binder clamp, of the binder clamps, and an aid external to the binder clamp,
• wherein the aids are operatively connected to one another in order to open clamping jaws belonging to the binder clamp,
• wherein a drive-related pressing operation is configured to be carried out on the movable aid internal to the binder clamp at a discharge location of the book block by the aid external to the binder clamp that is configured to be operated by a drive, the pressing operation configured to effect an opening of the clamping jaws belonging to the binder clamp, the opening being aligned for a release of the book block.

A machine for producing adhesively bonded printed products, comprising a book block, the machine consisting essentially of:

• a circulating clamp chain equipped with binder clamps spaced apart from one another, each of the binder clamps cooperating with a clamp opening system,
• the clamp opening system comprising a movable aid internal to a binder clamp, of the binder clamps, and an aid external to the binder clamp,
• wherein the aids are operatively connected to one another and are configured to open clamping jaws belonging to the binder clamp,
• wherein along a circulation of the circulating bracket chain at an operative location in relation to a loading location and an unloading location of the book block, at least one further clamp opening system comprising a drive with the aid external to the binder clamp with which it can be operated, by means of which means in each case a drive-related pressing operation is configured to be performed on the movable aid internal to the binding clamp, the pressing operation configured to cause an opening of the clamping jaws belonging to the binder clamp adapted to an operating state.

A method for operating a machine for producing adhesively bonded printed products, comprising a book block, the machine consisting essentially of a circulating clamp chain equipped with binder clamps spaced apart from one another, each of the binder clamps cooperating with a clamp opening system, the clamp opening system comprising aids comprising a movable aid internal to a binder clamp, of the binder clamps, and an aid external to the binder clamp, the aids being operatively connected to one another, the method comprising

• operating the aids to open clamping jaws belonging to the binder clamp, the operation comprising:
• executing a drive-related pressing operation on the movable aid internal to the binder clamp at a loading location of the book block by the aid external to the binder clamp using a drive,
• wherein the opening of the clamping jaws belonging to the binder clamp is achieved as a function of a thickness of the book block to be received, and
• wherein a recoil force is established with a contact pressure operation relating to the drive, the recoil force being converted to the book block during a running cycle.
