A method of preventing or treating a cancer therapeutic-related cognitive dysfunction, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a TrkB agonist, wherein said TrkB agonist is administered to the subject before, during, or after completion of the administration of a cancer treatment regimen or a combination thereof.
