Method and apparatus for controlling the temperature of an evaporator for an inhaler, in particular an electronic cigarette product

A device for temperature control of a vaporizer for an inhaler, comprising:

• a vaporizer, wherein the vaporizer comprises:
• a heating element, wherein the heating element is an electric resistance heating element;
• and
• a measuring circuit;
• an electronically controlled switching element, wherein the current flow through the heating element is switchable on and off with the switching element,
• a voltage measuring device for measuring a voltage applied to the heating element,
• a current measuring device for measuring a current flow through the heating element,
• an electronic control device arranged to determine a resistance of the heating element from the measured voltage and the measured current, and to control a temperature of the heating element by controlled switching off of the current flow through the heating element by corresponding control of the switching element when the determined resistance:
• exceeds a first critical threshold R_co;
• or
• falls below a first critical threshold R_co.
