Abstract
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to controlling virtual reality (VR) content displayed on a VR head mounted display (HMD). Communication can be established between a computer system, a VR HMD, and a mobile device. A user input configured to control VR content displayed on a display of the VR HMD can be received on the mobile device. The VR content displayed on the VR HMD can then be controlled based on the user input received on the mobile device.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- establishing communication between a computer system, a virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), and a mobile device;
- receiving a user input on the mobile device configured to control VR content displayed on a display of the VR HMD as output by the computer system;
- and
- controlling the VR content displayed on the VR HMD based on the user input received on the mobile device.
A computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, wherein the computer readable storage medium is not a transitory signal per se, the program instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to perform a method comprising:
- establishing communication between a computer system, a virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), and a mobile device;
- receiving a user input on the mobile device configured to control VR content displayed on a display of the VR HMD as output by the computer system;
- and
- controlling the VR content displayed on the VR HMD based on the user input received on the mobile device.
A system comprising:
- a virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD);
- a mobile device;
- and
- a computer system communicatively coupled to the VR HMD and the mobile device, the computer system including at least one memory component and at least one processor, the processor being configured to perform a method comprising:
- receiving a user input from the mobile device configured to control VR content displayed on a display of the VR HMD;
- and
- controlling the VR content displayed on the VR HMD based on the user input received from the mobile device.
