Abstract
A multi-lender architecture evaluates applicant data against lending rule sets of multiple lenders. Rule sets provided by different lenders may be expressed differently. The multi-lender architecture transforms the rules in each rule set and represents the rules in a normalization grid. The normalization grid allows a single algorithm to evaluate the rules of different lenders.

A method of transforming rules into a common format, the method comprising:
- identifying, by a processor, a test, an outcome variable, and an outcome value in a first rule, wherein the first rule indicates that the outcome value is dependent on satisfaction of the test;
- transforming, by the processor, the first rule into a normalization grid by:
- splitting, by the processor, the test into a test variable, a first comparison operator, and first comparison value;
- generating, by the processor, a first column comprising the test variable and the first comparison operator in a header row;
- generating, by the processor, a first row corresponding to the first rule, the first row comprising the first comparison value in the first column corresponding to the test variable and the first comparison operator;
- and
- generating, by the processor, a second column comprising the outcome variable in the header row, wherein the first row comprise the outcome value in the second column corresponding to the outcome variable,
- receiving, by the processor, a request to generate an first output using the normalization grid, wherein the request includes data associated with a user;
- and
- generating, by the processor, the first output including the first outcome value in response to the data satisfying the test based on the test variable, first comparison operator, and first comparison value in the normalization grid.
A system of transforming rules into a common format, the system comprising:
- a memory;
- a processor coupled to the memory, and the processor is configured to:
- identify a test, an outcome variable, and an outcome value in a first rule, wherein the first rule indicates that the outcome value is dependent on satisfaction of the test;
- transform the first rule into a normalization grid by:
- splitting the test into a test variable, a first comparison operator, and first comparison value;
- generating a first column comprising the test variable and the first comparison operator in a header row;
- generating a first row corresponding to the first rule, the first row comprising the first comparison value in the first column corresponding to the test variable and the first comparison operator;
- and
- generating a second column comprising the outcome variable in the header row, wherein the first row comprise the outcome value in the second column corresponding to the outcome variable,
- receive a request to generate an first output using the normalization grid, wherein the request includes data associated with a user;
- and
- generate the first output including the first outcome value in response to the data satisfying the test based on the test variable, first comparison operator, and first comparison value in the normalization grid.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by at least one computing device, cause the at least one computing device to perform operations comprising, the operations comprising:
- identifying a test, an outcome variable, and an outcome value in a first rule, wherein the first rule indicates that the outcome value is dependent on satisfaction of the test;
- transforming the first rule into a normalization grid by:
- splitting the test into a test variable, a first comparison operator, and first comparison value;
- generating a first column comprising the test variable and the first comparison operator in a header row;
- generating a first row corresponding to the first rule, the first row comprising the first comparison value in the first column corresponding to the test variable and the first comparison operator;
- and
- generating a second column comprising the outcome variable in the header row, wherein the first row comprise the outcome value in the second column corresponding to the outcome variable,
- receiving a request to generate an first output using the normalization grid, wherein the request includes data associated with a user;
- and
- generating the first output including the first outcome value in response to the data satisfying the test based on the test variable, first comparison operator, and first comparison value in the normalization grid.
