Tritium Fiber Iron Sight

A sight fora firearm comprising:

• a housing configured to be mounted to a firearm, the housing having a cavity therein;
• an artificial light source disposed within the cavity of the housing;
• a light transmission rod positioned in the cavity of the housing, and axially coupled to illumination from the artificial light source, the light transmission rod being configured to collect and transmit both ambient light and light from the artificial light source;
• and
• a retainer removably engaged with the housing and fixing the light transmission rod within the cavity,
• wherein removal of the retainer provides access for replacement of the light transmission rod.

A sight for a firearm comprising:

• a housing configured to be mounted to a firearm;
• an artificial light source disposed within the housing;
• a light transmission rod positioned in the housing, the light transmission rod being configured to collect and transmit both ambient light and light from the artificial light source;
• and
• a retainer threadably engaged with the housing and fixing the light transmission rod within the housing, the retainer defining an axially extending aperture that aligns with the light transmission rod to provide an aiming reference,
• wherein removal of the retainer provides access for replacement of the light transmission rod.
