Abstract
The present invention relates to a method and a device for decoding an image, which improve encoding and decoding efficiency by performing various forms of transform and inverse transform during transform and inverse transform processes of a video coding technique.
Claims11
A method of decoding a video, the method comprising:
- determining whether a sub-block transform is performed on a current coding block, wherein the current coding block is split into two sub-blocks when the sub-block transform is performed on the current coding block;
- determining whether the current coding block is split symmetrically or asymmetrically when the sub-block transform is performed on the current coding block;
- determining a horizontal transform type and a vertical transform type of a current sub-block belonging to the current coding block;
- and
- performing an inverse transform on the current sub-block based on the horizontal transform type and the vertical transform type.

A method of encoding a video, the method comprising:
- determining whether a sub-block transform is performed on a current coding block, wherein the current coding block is split into two sub-blocks when the sub-block transform is performed on the current coding block;
- determining whether the current coding block is split symmetrically or asymmetrically;
- determining a horizontal transform type and a vertical transform type of a current sub-block belonging to the current coding block;
- and
- generating a bitstream by encoding a residual signal of the current sub-block,
- wherein a transform on the residual signal is performed based on the horizontal transform type and the vertical transform type.

A device for storing a bitstream associated with a video signal,
- wherein the bitstream includes a residual signal of a current sub-block belonging to a current coding block,
- wherein whether a sub-block transform is performed on the current coding block is determined,
- wherein the current coding block is split into two sub-blocks when the sub-block transform is performed on the current coding block,
- wherein whether the current coding block is split symmetrically or asymmetrically is determined,
- wherein a horizontal transform type and a vertical transform type of the current sub-block belonging to the current coding block is determined, and
- wherein a transform on the residual signal is performed based on the horizontal transform type and the vertical transform type.
