Creating a virtual storage system, including: instantiating one or more virtual storage controllers; instantiating one or more virtual storage devices each including multiple storage tiers; and constructing a virtual storage system in which the one or more virtual storage devices are coupled to each of the one or more virtual storage controllers.

A method comprising:
- instantiating one or more virtual storage controllers;
- instantiating one or more virtual storage devices each including multiple storage tiers;
- and
- constructing a virtual storage system in which the one or more virtual storage devices are coupled to each of the one or more virtual storage controllers.
An apparatus comprising a computer processor, a computer memory operatively coupled to the computer processor, the computer memory having disposed within it computer program instructions that, when executed by the computer processor, cause the apparatus to carry out the steps of:
- instantiating one or more virtual storage controllers;
- instantiating one or more virtual storage devices each including multiple storage tiers;
- and
- constructing a virtual storage system in which the one or more virtual storage devices are coupled to each of the one or more virtual storage controllers.
A computer program product disposed upon a computer readable medium, the computer program product comprising computer program instructions that, when executed, cause a computer to carry out the steps of:
- instantiating one or more virtual storage controllers;
- instantiating one or more virtual storage devices each including multiple storage tiers;
- and
- constructing a virtual storage system in which the one or more virtual storage devices are coupled to each of the one or more virtual storage controllers.
