Abstract
Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems include reading logical-to-physical (L2P) table entries from non-volatile memory into volatile memory. Upon detection of a trigger to recover L2P data that was unmerged with the L2P table entries, a copy of an L2P journal is read from non-volatile memory. The L2P journal includes the L2P data that was unmerged with the L2P table entries. One or more of the L2P table entries are updated using the L2P data from the L2P journal.
Claims20
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a processing device, cause the processing device to:
- read logical-to-physical (L2P) table entries from non-volatile memory into volatile memory;
- detect a trigger to recover L2P data that was unmerged with the L2P table entries;
- in response to detecting the trigger:
- read a copy of an L2P journal from non-volatile memory, the L2P journal including the L2P data that was unmerged with the L2P table entries;
- and
- update one or more of the L2P table entries using the L2P data from the L2P journal.
A system comprising:
- a memory device;
- and
- a processing device, operatively coupled with the memory device, to:
- read logical-to-physical (L2P) table entries from non-volatile memory into volatile memory;
- detect a trigger to recover L2P data that was unmerged with the L2P table entries;
- in response to detecting the trigger:
- read a copy of an L2P journal from non-volatile memory, the L2P journal including the L2P data that was unmerged with the L2P table entries;
- and
- update one or more of the L2P table entries using the L2P data from the L2P journal.
A method comprising:
- reading logical-to-physical (L2P) table entries from non-volatile memory into volatile memory, wherein the L2P table entries include layer 0 table entries, layer 1 table entries, and layer 2 table entries;
- detecting a trigger to recover L2P data that was unmerged with the L2P table entries;
- in response to detecting the trigger:
- reading a copy of an L2P journal from non-volatile memory, the L2P journal including journal entries storing the L2P data that was unmerged with the L2P table entries, wherein each journal entry includes a layer 1 table entry identifier and a physical address storing a layer 2 table entry;
- and
- updating one or more layer 1 table entries of the L2P table entries using the L2P data from the L2P journal.
