A catalyst for decomposing perfluorinated compounds is composed of tungsten (W) compound and nickel (Ni) compound as main components and composed of aluminum (Al) compound or silicon (Si) compound as a supporter.

A method for decomposing perfluorinated compounds, the method comprising:
- decomposing the perfluorinated compounds using a catalyst,
- wherein the catalyst comprises:
- tungsten (W) compound and nickel (Ni) compound as main components;
- and
- supporters, and
- wherein the supporter is aluminum (Al) compound or silicon (Si) compound.
