Resource allocation for piggyback downlink control information

A user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• one or more processors operatively coupled to the memory, the memory and the one or more processors configured to:
• receive, from a base station, a scheduling downlink control information (DCI) communication that schedules a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission, the scheduling DCI including an indication of a resource allocation for a DCI communication, wherein the resource allocation for the DCI communication includes one or more resources included in a resource allocation for the PDSCH transmission;
• and
• receive the PDSCH transmission that includes the DCI communication based at least in part on the indication of the resource allocation for the DCI communication.

A base station for wireless communication, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• one or more processors operatively coupled to the memory, the memory and the one or more processors configured to:
• determine a resource allocation for a downlink control information (DCI) communication, wherein the resource allocation for the DCI communication includes one or more resources of a set of resources allocated for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission;
• and
• transmit, to a user equipment (UE), a scheduling DCI communication that schedules the PDSCH transmission, the scheduling DCI including an indication of the resource allocation for the DCI communication.
