Systems, methods, and computer program products for providing a wait indication for a delayed paging operation

A computer program product, comprising:

• a tangible, non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising computer readable program code embodied therein, the computer readable program code comprising:
• computer readable code to receive a paging message at a User Equipment (UE) from a network node over a wireless communication network;
• and
• computer readable code to transmit, responsive to receiving the paging message, a wait indication to the network node indicating a delay in transmission of a response to the paging message.

A method of a network node for managing a paging message for a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network, the method comprising:

• transmitting the paging message to the UE in the wireless communication network;
• receiving a wait indication from the UE;
• and
• delaying a retransmission of the paging message to the UE responsive to receiving the wait indication from the UE.
