Region-based distributed information management system

A networked information management system configured to distribute data management to a plurality of geographic regions, the networked information management system comprising:

• a master storage manager comprising first physical hardware, the master storage manager configured to implement a master app manager;
• a client computing device located in a first geographic region in the plurality of geographic regions separate from a geographic region in which the master storage manager resides;
• and
• a region storage manager comprising second physical hardware that is in communication with the master storage manager and the client computing device and that is located in the first geographic region, wherein the region storage manager is configured to:
• receive, from the client computing device, a request for first data;
• determine that the first data is not stored in the first geographic region;
• retrieve the first data from the master storage manager;
• and
• transmit the first data to the client computing device.
