Techniques for communicating beam information

A method of wireless communications, comprising:

• transmitting, to a user device, an indication about an association between X reference resources, where X is an integer greater than 1, and a target resource, wherein the association includes properties of a communication channel to the user device, and wherein the X reference resources indicated in the association support a data transmission satisfying that all of the X reference resources correspond to a channel part of a same layer of the data transmission.

A method for wireless communication, comprising:

• performing, by a network device, a beam sweeping operation by sending multiple reference resources and an indication about an association between the multiple reference resources and a target resource port;
• and
• performing a multi-beam transmission on the target resource port based on the indication.
