Electrolytic capacitor

A method for producing an electrolytic capacitor, the method comprising:

• forming a capacitor element;
• and
• impregnating the capacitor element with a liquid containing a first solvent having no boiling point or a boiling point of 180° C. or more, wherein:
• the forming of the capacitor element includes:
• preparing an anode foil on which a dielectric layer is formed and a cathode foil provided with a first layer on the cathode foil, the first layer including at least one selected from the group consisting of carbon, nickel, a nickel compound, titanium, and a titanium compound;
• and
• forming a conductive polymer layer including a conductive polymer between the anode foil and the cathode foil that are disposed to face each other, and
• a proportion of water in the liquid ranges from 0.1% by mass to 6.0% by mass, inclusive.
