Computer vision-based assessment of insurance claims

A method for analyzing a dental image, the method comprising:

• receiving a dental image, wherein the dental image is associated with a patient;
• determining an image type of the dental image;
• determining one or more features associated with the dental image, wherein the features comprise at least one of:
• identifying a plurality of teeth and tooth numbering associated with each tooth of the plurality of teeth of the patient,
• detecting missing teeth associated with the patient,
• identifying a gender of the patient,
• identifying an age of the patient,
• identifying one or more historical dental procedures provided to the patient, and
• identifying one or more pathologies associated with the patient.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing instructions for assessing a dental claim, comprising:

• instructions for receiving a dental image and dental information for a dental claim, wherein the dental image and dental information are associated with a patient;
• instructions for determining a plurality of features of the dental image;
• instructions for detecting anomalies based on at least the features of the dental image;
• instructions for comparing the dental information of the patient with the plurality of features of the dental image associated with the patient;
• and
• instructions for generating a claim summary based on at least the comparing of the dental information with the plurality of features of the dental image.
